Making a typical pair of jeans can require nearly 2,000 gallons of water and 400 megajoules of energy. Once purchased, caring for that same pair of jeans throughout its lifespan can cause more than 30 kilograms of carbon dioxide to be emitted. That’s equivalent to running a garden hose for two hours, driving a car 78 miles, or powering a computer for 556 hours. Sustainable Apparel Coalition

To ensure that we are driving change we focus on the areas of operations in our industry that will make the greatest impact.

By adhering to The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), launched by the United Nations in 2015 we have been able to create a plan to optimize our operation processes, improve the livelihood of our employees and community, follow international standards of compliance, and essentially help our planet progress.

Addressing the SDGs through T&C’s sustainability plan by also being a proud member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, we believe it is our duty to practice responsibility in our manufacturing process. As part of the coalition, we use the HIGG Index to measure our environmental impact transparently to our clients. Our Customer Social Compliance audit can be found on LEVIS, VF, COSTCO & WRAP system.

As part of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition transparency is key for all our stakeholders and our data can all be accessed through SEDEX and the Higg Index. We have integrated the EIM score software to determine all our future improvement points so that we can continue to improve on our environmental impact. We address the SDG’s goals in poverty, gender equality, clean water, responsible consumption and production, reduced inequalities, climate action, good health and well being, and decent work and economic growth. We hope to influence other brands and companies to follow suit.
